Hruschka - Mur de Pisciadù
This route was first climbed by the pharmacist from Brunico M. Hruschka, together with E. Lunz and R. von Zieglauer back on 28 September 1933. 500m high, it’s classic Dolomite chimney climbing breaches difficulties up to classic grade V. Reinterpreted in winter, in our opinion it is a really nice climb, by no means trivial, fun and adventurous. Seeing that the approach is easy and the ice often forms, Hruschka deserves to become a winter classic.
Park at Ristorante Mesules, the last house at Colfosco in Badia when driving up towards Passo Gardena, and cross the pistes. Enter Val Mezdì (AVS signs). Ascend the valley and reach the base of the obvious ramp that leads to the chimney. If using snowshoes, leave these at the base of the ramp. Circa 1 hour from the car.
Gear8 ice screws, 3-4 friends up to #1, 2 pegs, slings
