When asked about the most beautiful natural wonders in Alta Valtellina, the waterfall Rin de Scegn at Crap de Scegn immediately springs to mind. Located above the village of Isolaccia in Valdidentro and wedged into a truly magical natural environment, this waterfall is almost a hundred meters high.

The waterfall can be admired right from the start of the path, framed amongst majestic trees and the clear skies above. A beautiful path now leads up to it, albeit a bit steep, but it takes you to a vantage point from where you can fully admire this wonderful natural beauty.

Crap de Scegn can be seen in all seasons; in spring when nature awakes rendering the countryside more lively and colorful and the waterfall is at its most impressive, in summer when you want to cool off from the heat, in autumn when the the forest colours stand out and the clearer air provides an even clearer view, and in winter when everything slows down and the water grinds to a holt, transforming into an imposing and spectacular ephemeral icefall.

Anyone can visit this waterfall: children will admire the long streak of the water, those in love because waterfalls are always a romantic, and all those who wish to admire the power and energy that nature has to offer. All will be struck by the extraordinary, seductive and enchanting display. It also happens to be a mere stone's throw from the village of Isolaccia, fueling you with so much energy that it becomes addictive.

Take plenty of pictures and stay a while, because if you take the time to admire the waterfall you'll get the impression of going upwards. This is a fascinating waterfall which you won't forget in a hurry, and when you head back down, the world will seem more beautiful.
