Paul Bonhomme's project to ski 10 new lines this winter is in full swing and after Le jardin suspendu off Pointe de Blonnière, L'éperon des Saltimbanques on Mont Chaperon and Il segreto di Maïra down Rocca Bianca, the 45-year-old French mountain guide now claims his fourth new line, this time on the NE Face of Mont Pélago.
The 2768m high mountain is located in the Mercantour massif and after climbing to the summit early on Sunday 21 February, Bonhomme skied a couloir down the northeast face he has now called Les Larmes d’Ulysse, the Tears of Odysseus. The 600m drop deals with 5.3/E4 technical difficulties and 20m down-climbing.
