Saturday 1 Ocotber 2011. Boom of participants during the first day of the 10th Rock Junior at the Climbing Stadium in arco. 207 athletes competed in the Under 14 Cup while 130 middle school students from arco participated. Another 300 climbers are expected tomorrow for the Kid's Rock.

On 27/09/2011 the Swiss alpinists Patrick Aufdenblatten and Michael Lerjen-Demjen climbed the North Face of the Matterhorn via the Bonatti Diretissima (ED+ 1200m) in 7 hours 14 minutes.

The second stage of the project "On the trails of the glaciers", initiated on 28 July, has now come to an end. Created by Italian photographer and alpinist Fabiano Ventura, this project studies the effects of climate change on the Earth's most important mountain glacier.

In June 2011 the Italian alpinists Fabrizio Manoni, Enrico Rosso and Paolo Stoppini established two new routes on Nevado Santa Cruz in the Andes, Peru.

On 2 August 2011 Italian climber Mario Prinoth carried out a rare repeat of Silbergeier (8b/8b+, 240m) in the Rätikon, Switzerland, while on 25 May he had managed to on-sight the via Battisti - Weiss (400m, max 8a+) on Spiz delle Roe de Ciampiè (Larsec, Catinaccio, Dolomites).

The final stage of the Bouldering World Cup 2011 took place in Munich, Germanuy last weekend and was won by Mina Markovic and Dmitry Sharafutdinov. Kilian Fischhuber and Anna Stöhr won the overall World Cup 2011.

After the Karakorum, the second expedtiion entitled "On the trails of the glaciers" is now about to set off for a month in the Caucasus, coordinated by Italian photographer Fabiano Ventura and the association Macromicro.

Adam Ondra (CZE) and Yana Chereshneva (RUS) won the Duel competition and in doing so also the special Rock Master 2011. The Combined ranking was won by Ondra, DiGiulian while the National ranking went to Russia.
