French mountain guide Paul Bonhomme has made what is likely to be a new ski descent down the east face of Dent Blanche in Switzerland.

Mountaineering in Italy’s Bergamasque Alps: on Pizzo Porola (2981m) Marco Birolini and Ennio Spiranelli have made the first ascent of '80 Primavere ', a mixed climb dedicated to Mario Bergamelli, Honorary President of the Nembrese Alpinist Group.

On 6 February 2019 French alpinists Paul Bonhomme and Stephane Roguet made the first ski descent of the east face of Mt. Étale in France.

In October 2018 Spencer Gray and Aivaras Sajus made what is likely to be the first ascent of Sharphu II (6328m) in Nepal's Kangchenjunga region. The route climbs the mountain’s east face, was climbed alpine style over a six-day period and has been called Saṃsāra (ED2 AI5 M6).
