Cima di Bon NE Face skied by Luca and Roberto Dallavalle
Cima di Bon is a summit in the Presanella group. Its northeast face drops sharply into Val di Bon, a wild valley that ascends from Val Piana above Ossana.
I’d observed the face for quite a while, but had to wait for the last spring snowfall so that the steep upper rocky slabs would remain plastered with wet spring snow.
Both my brother Roberto and I didn't think we’d manage to ski the entire line, but while we ascended we noticed some small drops that allowed us to do ski it all without having to resort to an abseil.
Some details: the face is about 650m high, after the first section on the ridge the 150m slope is constantly between 55° - 60°, then after having traversed past the rocky sections the slope always maintains an angle of about 40-45° to the base. We departed from Valpiana at 7.30 on Saturday 20 April and reached the summit at 11.30. Total height difference 1700m.
Two days later Roberto and I skied the northwest face of Cima Scarpacò
