Time for Truth for Big Ben

On Saturday 20 March two English climbers manifested their no against the war by climbing Big Ben, one of the key symbols of the British establishment. The two timed their ascent to coincide with the world protest day against the war in Iraq.

According to the BBC the climbers, both members of the international organisation Greenpeace, scaled two security fences to reach the start of their route. Despite adverse climatic conditions the two reached the clock at 06.15, where they unfurled their flag with the message "Time for Truth". The two were arrested after the climb but subsequently released.

The ease with which the climbers overcame security fences is both cause for concern and embarrassing for the British Government. Especially since, as all know, St. Stephen's Tower is located literally a stone's throw from the Houses of Parliament...
