Melloblocco, bouldering meet in Val di Mello

On 7-9 May the Lombardy Mountain guides have organised an intenational bouldering meet in the Val di Mello, Northern Italy.
Bouldering fans take note - on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 May the Lombardy Mountain guides have organised an intenational bouldering meet in the Val di Mello, Northern Italy.

A shuttle bus will ferry climbers to the 200+ problems, and all are invited to take part in the two-day event. The highlight includes total of euro 5.000,00 prize money for the hardest boulders climbed, but the empasis is much more on a relaxed international get together than a fought over competition.

That said, over 120 climbers have already signed up, including the likes of Chris Sharma, Dave Graham, Liv Sansoz, François Lombard, Chloé Minoret, Cristian Brenna, Alberto Gnerro, Stefano Alippi and many more.

Val di Mello holds a strong place in the history of rock climbing in Italy. Its granite walls and valley boulders were the scene of free climbing development during the late '70's and early '80's and even today its multi-pitch trad routes and technical boulders remain a highly popular testing ground.
