A four-man group of climbers from Iceland comprised of Sigurdur Bjarni Sveinsson, Arnar Gauti Markússon, Stefnir Gíslason and Arnar Páll Gíslason will travel to Slovenia in mid-October in order to climb six peaks in the Kamnik - Savinja Alps.

The climbers will team up with local alpinists Rozle Bregar and Miha Avgustin and, led by highly talented Aleš Česen (son of Tomo Česen), they intend to reach the summits of six mountains in a single day. The main aim of the trip however is very different and far more important: raise funds for ace Slovenian sports climber Natalija Gros who, in mid-July, suffered the loss of her husband Jure Breceljnik. The filmmaker - producer of award-winning documentaries such as Chalk & Chocolate and Wild One - died unexpectedly in his sleep aged only 41 on 16 July 2015, leaving behind their 6-month old daughter.

The Icelandic climbers had got to know Jure Breceljnik during the long months of filming in Iceland and become very close friends. Through their initiative they now hope to raise awareness and gain vital financial support for Nataljia Gros and Ela Breceljnik, to help them during these tough times.

Anyone wishing to help the young family can make donations either via www.youcaring.com, or via the Slovenian Red Cross. It goes without saying that all funds will go directly to Nataljia Gros and her daughter Ela. All information regarding Jure's Challenge are updated on the dedicated dedicated Facebook page.

Peaks that may be climbed (weather conditions permitting): Jazerska Kocna, Grintovec, Skuta, Turska Gora, Brana, Planjava and Ojstrica.
