Garda Trentino: it's time for the OutdoorDays
On 22, 23, 24 May the second edition of the OutdoorDays, the festival for outdoor sports and activities, will take place in the Garda Trentino. This is an appointment for all sports men and women, beginners, companies and clubs which have the passion for nature as their Leitmotif.
22, 23, 24 May is time the OutdoorDays. For the second year running Riva del Garda and the entire Garda Trentino territory will prepare itself for all outdoor activity lovers, for all those whose game and playing field is Mother Nature herself. This is a true festival for climbing, canoeing, canyoning, cycling, mountain biking, trekking, vie ferrate and nordic walking. The event, designed by Riva del Garda Fierecongressi, not only gives everyone the opportunity to experiment these activities in the magnificent Garda Trentino area, but also offers all outdoor lovers, companies, instructors, mountain guides and clubs an important occasion to meet like-minded outdoor enthusiasts.
The village and the outdoor activities. Just like in last year's first edition, the heart and soul of the event will be the Outdoor Village, set up in the trade fair at Riva del Garda. The activities themselves take place thoughout the entire Garda Trentino region. Starting from the "village" - where exhibitors and clubs are located and where spectacles and meetings will be held - enthusiasts will be accompanied by mountain guides and qualified instructors to discover the rock faces, the paths dating back to the First World War, the via ferrata and mountain bike trails, the deep canyons, nordic walking routes and canoe outings beneath the Lake Garda cliffs.
Test Areas Earth, Water. Once again enthusiasts will be able to field-test the latest products in three immense Test Areas. The first Test Area (at Arco) is designated for gear provided by companies for four different itineraries: Alpine Trekking, Trail Running, Via Ferrata and Nordic Walking, plus two areas for sport climbing and bouldering. The Water Test Area is located at Riva del Garda and with the help of qualified instructors people will be able to discover the secrets of canoeing and kayaking. Technology lovers will find all the latest products at the High-Tech Test Area at the Outdoor Village.
Meetings with climbers, spectacles, competitions, workshops. The Outdoor Village also offers the opportunity to meet some of the main players, to take part in workshops and watch spectacular performances by athletes on the slackline, Parkour, Show Bike Trial Free Style as well as a bouldering competition. Furthermore, there will be a series of meetings every day to introducing the various outdoor champions, starting with Martino Frova, the canoeing champion, explorer and caver of the La Venta Association who on Friday 22 May at 16.00 will recount his adventures to some of the wildest and least known areas in the world.
On Saturday 23 May at 10.45 Alessandro De Gasperi will take to the stage. This champion triatlete will talk about his iron man experience which represents the apex of outdoor competitions. At 16.30 Michele Fair will talk about his passion for extreme skiing and his latest project to ski K2. The meetings finish in style on Saturday at 18.00 with Manolo: this symbol of master climbing needs no introduction and his talk is something not to be missed.
Things kick off with another exceptional testimonial on Sunday 24 May at 10.45, namely with Ines Papert. The unequalled ice climbing champion has recently spent more time mountaineering and discovering ice and rock walls from Norway to Pakistan. At 15.15 Florian Riegler and Angelika Rainer check in, perhaps the two young mountaineers who best represent the new vogue of Italian climbing from competitions to massive walls. The meetings come to an end at 16.30 when Marcello Cominetti introduces a rarely seen and quite particular Patagonia: bouldering or, put in other words, how the mountaineers while their time before embarking on adventures on the legendary rock faces at the end of the world.
