On Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 September the annual Rock Master will take place in Arco. The event is one of the oldest and most prestigious climbing competitions.  ROCK MASTERThe formula. The classic competition formula: the sum of two events, the on-sight and redpoint, decides the winner. The athlete who climbs highest over two days wins. . Like last year, Leonardo Di Marino and Donato Lella sono, are the route setters. Athletes. The top ten in the permanent world class ranking, plus 10 "wild cards". Last year's winners Sandrine Levet and Alexandre Chabot will take part, as will three times winner Muriel Sarkany (1999, 2000 and 2001). Patxi Usobiaga makes his debut in the men's event, on great form after his second place in Aviles in the World Cup Difficulty.  TROFEO ENNIO LATTISI (the duel)The formula. The top four athletes from the men's and women's event take part in the challenging head-to-head. The athletes climb not only against the route but also against their adversary.  SINT ROC BOLDER CONTESTThe formula. 4 boulder problems worked prior to the competition. Each problem eliminates the worst competitor, resulting in 2 or 3 athletes competing on the final fourth boulder problem. Athletes. By invitation, 8 men and seven women. last year was won by Mauro Calibani and Olga Yakovleva. Mauro Calibani will defend his title against a strong field headed by Chris Sharma, Salavat Rakhmetov. New to the wome's scene are Juliette Danion and Alizee Dufraisse  SPEEDThe formula. Another Rock Master classic, the men’s head to head, sudden death competition on two identical, parallel routes.the world's best are all eastern European. Special metion goes to Olesky,the only athlete to compete in two events, boulder and speed.
