Cristian Cores excellent second place in the final competition at Grenoble confirmed not only his near unbeatable form but also his ranking as Bouldering World Cup Champion 1999. He was beaten only by the Frenchman Dulac who gained an overall 4th place, behind Jerome Mejer in 3rd and the Russian Serik Kazbekov in 2nd. Daniel Andrada and Francois Petit tied for joint fifth place.
The womans event this year was dominated by Stèphanie Bodet, who was victorious in Grenoble, too. The Russian Elena Choumilova and the French Sandrine Levet placed second and third in the overall Worlcup Bouldering rankings, ahead of Gaelle Gouriou and Delphine Martin.
