Stefano Carnati climbing Biographie at Céüse in France
Few routes in the world have captured the imagination as much as Biographie, the groundbreaking work of art of mother nature at Céüse in France, bolted by Jean-Christophe Lafaille in the early 1990s and freed, after an epic siege, by Chris Sharma in 2001. Recognised as the world’s 9a+ reference route, these 60 moves of pure stamina provide something that goes well beyond their difficulty. Stefano Carnati knows something about this as in September 2018, aged 20, he became one of only a handful of climbers to successfully clip the anchors.
