The goal Sachi Amma set for himself this year was climb 10 routes graded 9a or harder, but if the Japanese climber continues at this rate, he’ll soon have to come up with a more challenging challenge. In fact, after sending the 9b Fight or Flight at Oliana many things changed, as he himself admits, and in the ensuing days he managed to send Joe-cita 9a and Power Inverter 9a+ at the same crag, while in the über-steep Santa Linya cave he made short work of Fuck the System 9a and the 9a+ Catxasa, fourth go. To these you also need to add the start of this incredible run at the end of January, namely the 9a of Seleccio Natural Left Exit at Santa Linya... in all six routes: one 9b, two 9a+ and three 9a. Yes, he’ll soon have to raise the bar.
