Rocco Micheletto climbing Mes Amis 8c at Covolo

Rocco Micheletto certainly cannot be considered a Wunderkind, a child prodigy who seems impervious to the force of gravity. He's 24 years old, has taken a break from university and works until late in the evening in a bar. Which renders even more interesting and important the progression of this climber from Asiago, who this March sent his first 8c and has now consolidated this grade repeating another two 8c's and even climbing his first 8c+.
All the routes are located at Covolo, the crag which for the last two decades has rightly been considered one of the shrines of Italian sports climbing, and Micheletto successes played out as follows: the 8c's Una Vida nomada and Mes Amis in March and, after a pause due to competitions in which he placed 6th in the Italian Lead Cup 2015), Nagay in September.
Micheletto's aim was to climb Covolo's four historic 8c, which meant Tentacoli was next on the agenda. After hurting his knee he abandoned this route in favour of the more difficult Super Ale and, a dozen attempts later spread out over 5 days, on Tuesday he successfully redpointed the line.
