The new linkup starts up the second part of the famous Unendliche Geschichte and then adds circa 10 moves to join La Tarlouze, a problem recently added by Giuliano Cameroni that finishes up left, at the top of the slab
Piccolruaz, who had climbed the second part of Never Ending Story in 2012, needed three days of work for this mammoth 32-move send. Graded 8C, La grosse Tarlouze now checks in as Piccolruaz’s hardest first ascent and hardest boulder problem to date.
The 19-year-old is evidently on a roll, having recently made fast work of The Dagger 8B+ at Cresicano. Piccolruaz has redpointed up to 9a Helmutant at Saustall, while in 2013 he placed an impressive fifth at the European Bouldering Championship at Eindhoven.
