Markus Bock adds new Frankenjura climbs

German climber Markus Bock has freed, amongst others, House Of Shock 8c+/9a in the Frankenjura, Germany.
Excellent spring conditions in German's Frankenjura have resulted in a flurry of hard first ascents at the hands of local climber Markus Bock. The 33 year old set the ball rolling in March by freeing an old Milan Sykora project in the Püttlachtal called Roof Warrior 8b+/8c, then upped the ante in early April by making the first ascent of Masters Of The Universe which shares the same start as Roof Warrior then breaks off left with difficulties in the region of 8c/8c+.

Not content, the German then set his sights on a project he had bolted and abandoned a few years ago in the Leinleitertal and after three days this year he succeeded in freeing House Of Shock. The name couldn't be more apt: with a mere 18 moves, this extremely powerful and bouldery 8c+/9a certainly comes as a shock to the system.
