In August Lara Neumeier made the first repeat, and consequently first female ascent, of the multi-pitch route Nimm Dir Zeit in the Allgäuer Alpen region of Austria. Situated on the Roter Stein, the 140m 8a+ was established in 2022 by local climber Pierre Breitwieser.

The seven pitches settle in at 6a, 7c+/8a, 8a/+, 7c, 7c, 6a, 7a and after spending 2 days working out the beta, Neumeier successfully redpointed the route on day 3. The 26-year-old commented: “The idea to try this route was born this year, in spring, when there was still a lot of snow at higher altitude and many alpine climbing areas were wet due to the melting snow and intense rainfall in the Alps.

I spent two days checking out the difficult pitches. Despite the extremely warm summer temperatures and some wet sections, I was able to find a beta for all moves. We returned on a cooler summer day with better conditions, and I was able to climb all pitches at first try and secured myself the first repeat and the first female ascent of Nimm dir Zeit.

Climbing this route was something very special to me as it is located where I grew up and my uncle, who is also a strong climber, came along to support me. I'm not the best at grading, but from what I've climbed so far regarding multi-pitch and sport routes, my suggestion for the difficulty of pitches two and three would be 8a and 8a+.”

Earlier this summer Neumeier repeated Headless Children on Schijenfluh in the Rätikon massif, while other classic hard multi-pitches in the past include Hotel Supramonte in Sardinia in 2018 and Delicatessen in Corsica's Bavella mountains in 2022.
