21-year-old Romy Fuchs and 23-year-old Lara Neumeier, both from Germany, have repeated Delicatessen, one of the most beautiful, high-end multi-pitch climbs in France located in the coarse granite Bavella massif in Corsica.

Established by Frenchmen Arnaud Petit and Stéphane Husson in 1992 and freed by Petit in 2001, this 120m 8b outing lay dormant until Nina Caprez and Cédric Lachat made the first repeat in 2011. since then it has seen a string of further repeats, and all ascensionists have confirmed the route's beauty.

Neumeier and Fuchs spent 10 days on the Mediterranean island and after having worked the route for four days Neumeier sent it on Monday 11 April, while Fuchs followed suit two days later. Both climbers led every pitch.

Neumeier reports "The first days on the wall the route felt really challenging for us because of its very hard slab parts with micro crimps and almost no footholds. But we improved quicker than expected and felt more comfortable every time we tried. Also we were super lucky with the weather and with some great teamwork and we both made it work on the last days of the trip."

While Fuchs is above all a boulderer and competition climber, Neumeier is no newcomer to multipitches of this sort and in 2018 she climbed another Mediterranean pearl, Hotel Supramonte in Sardinia put the Rolando Larcher and Roberto Vigiani.
