After Jumbo Love at Clark Mountain in 2018, Jonathan Siegrist has now climbed another extremely difficult sports climb on the outskirts of Las Vegas. This time the American climber spent his time in his extremely steep winter training ground Mount Potosi where he made the first ascent of the 9a+ One Hundred Proof. This is the second route of this grade established by Siegrist in the cave after last year’s All you can Eat, featured in the video below.

Siegrist has sent 11 climbs 9a+ or harder. These are: Biographie at Ceuse in 2014, La Rambla at Siurana, Papichulo and Power Inverter at Oliana in 2015, Pachamama, Joe Mama and Chaxi Raxi at Oliana in 2017, Bone Tomahawk and Jumbo Love at Clark Mountain in 2018, All you can Eat and Planta de Shiva at Villanueva del Rosario in 2019.

I’ve been inching my way higher and higher on this monstrous route over the last 2 weeks, but the process really started over a month ago trying hard on its easier sibling ‘Smoke Wagon’. Yesterday I finally hung on for the ride and took this bastard to the chains! ‘One Hundred Proof’ 15a is one of the hardest routes I’ve climbed in quite a while. Just as I started to really stress the time pressure, it feels SO relieving to wrap this up. Now only one week left until we’re off to keep your eyes peeled for an @epictvclimbing video part on this route from @orographic_visual also featuring the King @andy_raether @arcteryx @lasportivana @metoliusclimbing @maximropes @climbonproducts @physivantage
