Watch Janja Garnbret climb Fontainebleau's Big Five in a day

The video of Slovenia's Janja Garnbret climbing the iconic 'Big Five' boulder problems at Fontainebleau in France in a single day: Big Boss, Fourmis Rouge, Tristesse, Big Golden and Atrésie.

In the run-up to the Paris Olympic Games which she won precisly a week ago, in April 2024 Janja Garnbret travelled to the French capital. Unable to resist, she also briefly stopped by at the world's most famous bouldering area, Fontainebleau. On her first-ever visit to the forest she made quick work of the iconic "Big Five" circuit at Cuvier Rempart, climbing the five most classic blocs graded between 7C and 8A in rapid succession: Big Boss, Fourmis Rouge, Tristesse, Big Golden and Atrésie. The first woman to send all these was Mélissa Le Nevé in 2015 and, as a sign of how much standards have risen since then, Garnbret climbed them all in a single day.
