Adam Ondra repeats Action Directe, Frankenjura
Adam Ondra has done it again. On Monday 19 May the 15 year old climbed Action Directe, the benchmark 9a first ascended by the late Wolfgang Güllich in 1991.
The 45° line of one and two-finger pockets has been ascended just ten times since its first ascent and what makes Adam's ascent remarkable, as ever, is the speed with which he dispatched the route: a mere 15 attempts plus another 15 to get to grips with the powerful dyno start.
Action Direct is Adam's second grade 11 route in Germany's Frankenjura after "Unplugged" a fortnight ago. According to local strongman Markus Bock there is only one other route harder than Action Directe in the area: his own Corona which weighs in at half a grade harder and still awaits confirmation. Perhaps Adam's just the man for the job.
