Adam Ondra, new 9b in Siurana
Adam Ondra from the Czech Republic has recently returned to Siurana where he managed to come up trumps with La Capella, a route comprised of three intense boulder sections to the left of Jungle Speed which now weighs in at 9b.
Ondra's success came about after a nine day effort spread out over two trips (7 days this year and 2 last year) and this is now his hardest ever first ascent and second 9b overall. His first 9b was in Siurana once again, on Chris Sharma's Golpe de Estado - the first time ever a 9b had been confirmed.
After the Christmas break Ondra recently repeated the 8B+ boulder problem Prsty v ohni at Petrohad in the Czech Republic, proving that he's on fine form and on track for his most important appointment this season: the IFSC Climbing World Championships due to held this July in Arco, Italy.
