Yet another landslide on Mount Scerscen on the Swiss-Italian border. After a large collapse in January 2023, on Sunday morning just before 7 am a huge landslide consisting of seracs, rocks and ice occurred on the mountain's north face, ie on the Swiss side, at an altitude of about 3400m. Initial estimates are impressive: over one million cubic meters of debris, with a runout distance of approximately 5 km down the Tscherva glacier in Val Roseg. Fortunately no one was injured.

According to the Bernina section of the Swiss Alpine Club, the landslide has significantly affected access to the Coaz hut and the Tschierva hut. Furthermore the Vadret traverses from Tschierva towards Piz Roseg, Piz Scerscen and Piz Aguaglios are currently completely out of bounds.
