Route
An extremely beautiful icefall, one of the most repeated routes in the valley and consequently often crowded. Not to be missed nevertheless. All belays have been equipped with with bolts. The first big drip leads to an amphitheatre, from where the "classic" Patri exits left. "Candelone di Patry" takes the right drip, while the central line is taken by the "Direttissima".
Getting there
From the Aosta West motorway exit drive through Cogne and continue to Valnontey. Park at the end of the road. Access
Keep on the hydrographic right, follow the path until the waterfalls spring into view on the left. Walk-in: 1 hour 15 minutes. Descent
Abseil from the final step absei (belay with in situ gear), then move right (facing valley) around the obvious spur at the edge of the waterfall. Reach a second gully and descend this to the base. Gear
