Route
First climbed during July 2007 from the ground up by the Slovenians Marko Lukic and Andrej Grmovsek, "Never give up" climbs the large roof direct to the right of "A quarant'anni dalla Cima" (Dal Pra, 1996) This is how they describe the route: "The climbing is never extremely hard physically but it is constant and always serious. It’s hard to compare our new route with others we've climbed in Dolomites. We climbed physically harder ones, but probably none were so complex. Maybe the route could be compared to some serious Marmolada routes (like Specchio di Sara), where natural protection and long runouts are common. But loose and insecure rock in Tofana’s overhangs is far from the excellent Marmolada limestone. Especially because of this, climbing new ground in Tofana was a big adventure with many physical and mental battles."
Getting there
Drive to Rifugio Dibona, at the foot of the Tofana di Rozes. This is reached from Cotina by driving towards Passo Falzarego, past Pocol and few hairpin bends, and turning off right up onto the dirt track following signs for the refuge. Access
Approach the base of the pillar from the rifugio Dibona. Start to the left of "A quarant'anni dalla Cima" (Dal Pra, 1996) Descent
Traverse along the ledge towards the Punta Marietta buttress. Walk down the scree and ledges to the base of the buttress, and then walk around this on exposed terrain. Now descend past huge boulders to the rifugio Giussani. Gear
Bolted belays. Some bolts along the route, bring a set of cams to 3#, small tricams, slings Notes

non vorrei cadere in errore perchè la relazione è in alcuni punti poco chiara, ma credo che questa via percorra almeno per 2/3 un mio tentativo (forse qualcosa di più) arrivato a ca. 60 m dal grande tetto che io volevo superare sulla destra e che invece i due hanno superato a sinistra.bravi comunque, ma non credo che non abbiano incontrato tutti i miei chiodi (e qualche spit) sui tiri ed alle soste.nonostante il "cantiere" fosse aperto da anni non avevo lasciato totalmente l' intenzione di tornare a finirla e magari questa può essere la volta buona che quando la voglia mi verrà, ci torni...comunque ho la relazione del tratto già percorso e forse il fatto che nel primo tiro mi sia protetto esclusivamente con protezioni veloci può averre fatto credere ai due di essere su terreno vergine, ma credo si siano sbagliati ed un po' gli abbia fatto comodo perchè su quanto da me aperto c' è parecchia roba e si può arrampicare in libera tranquillamente...forse anche con difficoltà inferiori a quelle dichiarate. comunque sembra una bella via e vorrei citare almeno le persone che con me hanno avuto la pazianza di stare ad assicurarmi nell' apertura: Gabriella Salvadori, Maurizio Roveri, Sandro Pansini e Cesare Sartori.ciao a tutti.marcello cominetti

Non ho ripetuto la via...Ma il giorno di ferragosto ero a fianco, sullo spigolo del I° Pilastro (Pompanin -Alverà) e li ho visti ripetere la via completamente in libera... con tanto di riprese video! Abbiamo fatto anche delle foto.... Tanto di cappello.... e un coraggio per passare su quei gialli... Ale
