Direttissima di Patry does not always form but, when it does, Mother Nature offers a true work of art which simply must be climbed. The drip wedged is in between the classic finish on the left and Candelone di Patri on the right and offers 50m of extraordinarily beautiful climbing. It's definitely worth the wait and seizing the day!
Getting there
From the Aosta West motorway exit drive through Cogne and continue to Valnontey. Park at the end of the road. Access
Keep on the hydrographic right, follow the path until the waterfalls spring into view on the left. Walk-in: 1 hour 15 minutes. In the amphitheatre at the top of the first section of Patry classica climb the extraordinarily beautiful 50m middle drip. Descent
Abseil from the top of the final step (belay with in situ gear), then move right (facing valley) around the obvious spur at the edge of the waterfall. Reach a second gully and descend this to the base. Gear
Normal ice climbing gear.
