Compact Via Ferrata Set: reduced width and weight, equipped with progressive-tearing energy-absorbing system.
Planetmountain
As its name suggests, HOOK IT COMPACT, the new via ferrata set, features a “compact” structure achieved by reducing the width, and therefore weight, of the two new elasticated lanyards made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE). HOOK IT COMPACT is equipped with SLIDER, the patented progressive-tearing energy-absorbing system that ensures gradual braking and reduces the impact forces on the user, even in the intermediate weight range (60-80-100 kg).
The pouch that contains the energy absorber comes with a zip that simplifies on-the-spot inspections of the “Red Label”, the equipment's safety label. HOOK IT COMPACT is fitted with carabiners featuring double-gate opening system and ergonomic grip: with their large opening, they make it extremely easy for the user to clip and unclip to via ferrata cables or chains. A special feature of the new set is the newly added “integrated swivel” on which the two arms are mounted, that avoids the annoying twisting of the lanyards during the progression.
Furthermore, at the base of one of the arms, HOOK IT COMPACT is equipped with a webbing loop which, if necessary, works as a third connection point to stop/rest on an anchor. Easy to install, the HOOK IT COMPACT can be connected to the harness via a standard girth hitch and can be used by people weighing between 40 kg (excluding the equipment) and 120 kg (including the equipment).
Revamped in its colour scheme, the set comes in a dedicated mesh bag for backpack space-saving storage.
