Franco Cookson establishes But Nothing Is Lost, E12 trad at Ben Loyal in Scotland British climber Franco Cookson has made the first ascent of 'But Nothing Is Lost' at Ben Loyal in northern Scotland. Cookson has suggested E12 7a and, if the difficulty is confirmed, this would be the first of its grade in the United Kingdom.

Jorassique Pâques, big new French climb on the Grandes Jorasses From 3 to 6 April 2026, French alpinists Pierre Girot, Kilian Moni, Hugo Peruzzo and Arthur Poindefert established 'Jorassique Pâques' on the Grandes Jorasses in the Mont Blanc massif. Pilar Este freed on Cerro Chaltén (Fitz Roy) by Tasio Martín, Sean Villanueva From 6-8 March 2026 Tasio Martín and Sean Villanueva O'Driscoll made the first free ascent of 'Pilar Este' on Cerro Chaltén (Fitz Roy) in Patagonia. The 1200m route was first ascended 50 years ago, in 1976 by Casimiro Ferrari and Vittorio Meles as part of a Ragni di Lecco expedition.
