After Un couloir sans fin on Capucin du Requin in mid-January, Julien Herry has unearthed another ski descent on Dent du Requin, this time with Yannick Boissenot and Zian Perrot-Couttet.

Herry had noticed the line on the south face of Dent du Requin at the start of winter, thanks to a photo published on social media that caught his attention. Together with his Swiss friends Olivier Favre and Manu Gross made an early attempt, but due to high temperatures the trio retreated. Later that day, while observing the face from Vallee Blanche, they realised that they had bailed just before reaching the the skiing terrain on a beautiful spur.

Herry returned to complete the line with Boissenot and Perrot-Couttet. He stated "Some days everything just goes easy and smooth: a quick approach, a short and plaisant climb, much better snow than expected, topping out on a pretty and aerial ridge just below the «Chapeau à Cornes», smooth turns on interesting terrain, great riding partners, and back home by mid afternoon. Most likely the first descent of this original line!"

The descent has been called L’aileron du Requin, the Shark's fin, is 400m long and tackles a 40/50° slope. One 60m abseil was required.
