This morning an avalanche on Mount maudit (Mont Blanc) killed 9 alpinists. 9 others have been injured, and unfortunately this toll is still only provisional.

Italian extreme skier Davide Capozzi talks about this sport, with particular reference to the Mont Blanc mountain range, from the classic descents to those who have left their mark in the white gold.

On 04/06/2010 Francesco Civra Dano and Luca Rolli skied the North Face of Aiguille Blanche de Peuterey (Mont Blanc) via the Grivel - Chabod route. The first and only ski descent was carried out in 1980 by Stefano De Benedetti.

On 11 June Iganzio Piuzzi died in Gemona aged 73. He was one of the greatest mountaineers in the period 1950 – 1970. His climbing companion Roberto Sorgato remembers him in the following interview.
