The 4 nominations for the second edition of the Piolet d’or Asia, due to take place in Seol on November 2, have been made public.

On 21/10/2007 Valeri Babanov and Sergey Kofanov carried out an outstanding ascent of the unclimbed west ridge of Jannu (7710m) in pure alpine style.

Mondinelli has summited Broad Peak and all fourteen 8000m peaks: in doing so he has become the second Italian to climb the worlds highest mountains without the use of supplementary oxygen. The ascent and descent were carried out in a storm.

On 6 May Rolando Larcher carried out the first free ascent of Mezzogiorno di fuoco (270m, 8b max, 7c obligatory) on Punta Giradili, Sardinia. The route had been established by Larcher together with Maurizio Oviglia and Roberto Vigiani in 2006.
