Rock Master has decided to create, as of this year, a trophy dedicated to Tito Traversa, the promising young Italian climber who died aged 12 after a climbing accident at Orpierre in France last July. Within the Rock Junior competition which takes place on 31 August and 1 September, the male and female winners of the Lead competition will receive the new trophy dedicated to the young athlete.

"Tito was particularly keen on the Arco Rock Master: he really enjoyed taking part in the Rock Master competition" explained his father Giovanni Traversa "His dream was to take part in the Rock Master one day. The rock faces surrounding Arco were his second home and he really enjoyed getting ready and setting off for the Trentino region. We're particularly moved by the sign of friendship shown to us by Arco and all the Rock Junior youngsters. "

The sports club which manages the event, the Società Sportiva Dilettantistica Arrampicata Sportiva Arco, remembers Tito for his joy, ability and the smile on his face as he shared his love for climbing with others. The young climber from Ivrea often climbed at Arco and had taken part in several editions of Rock Junior. As of this year, Rock Junior will be experienced more intensely in the memory of a great friend and champion.

The trophy in his honour celebrates Arco's friendship towards Tito and his family.
