The Lead World Cup 2021 has finally kicked off with the first stage currently taking place in Innsbruck in Austria where, after the qualifications two days ago, the Semifinals and Finals take place today, at 9:55 and 19:55 respectively.

Janja Garnbret was the only athlete to top both routes in opening round, and is followed by Laura Rogora who in Briançon last year won gold in the sole Lead World Cup of the 2020 season. Adam Ondra dominated the first round ahead of local Jakob Schubert, Alexander Megos and, perfectly paired, Domen Škofic and Stefano Ghisolfi. It promises to be an intense day of Lead climbing today, while tomorrow the Austrian competitions continue with the Boulder World Cup.
