They seem like busy little ants. But they’re not; closer inspection reveals they're Jim Reynolds and Brad Gobright making a fast ascent of The Nose, one the most famous big wall climbs in the world. On their 11th attempt, one morning in late October 2017 the duo finally stopped the clock after an astounding 2 hours, 19 minutes and 44 seconds. In doing so they bettered by 4 minutes a record which previously had been deemed unbeatable, set in 2012 by none other than Alex Honnold and Hans Florine.

As could be seen in our interview with Gobright last autumn, the speed ascent was documented by their friend Tristan Greszko who has now published the entire timelapse, explaining "Watching this as it happened was one of the more incredible spectacles I've ever witnessed; an amazing display of superhuman mastery unlike anything I've seen before..."
