Luogosanto, Rock & Walls and the bouldering in Sardinia

On Saturday 9 May the beautiful old town was overrun by climbers and plenty of curious onlookers. The street contest was won by Angelo Manca at the end of a hard-fought and spectacular final that took place on the town’s church tower! Highly motivated Silvia de Rubeis from Cagliari won the women’s event.

On Sunday 10 May the new sector located behind the town was inaugurated. A forest littered with thousand-year old excellent quality granite boulders within Luogosanto park, with magnificent problems of all difficulties. The climbers certainly gave it all they got and climbed right up to the bitter end managing to clinch some interesting first ascents that were suitably rewarded with prizes by some of our main sponsors such as E9 and Wild Climb, who together with Kong made the event even attractive for the climbers.

The Brush & Climbs event, expert Giorgio Soddu cleaned the most attractive problems and won some Gallura Vermentino from famous winery 'Siddura'.

As to the new sector, I’d like to particularly thank the Forestry Commission that for its outstanding job, my climbing parter Enrico Baistrocchi who was the first to really test the sector and who contributed significantly to its development with his vast experience. Last but not least I’d like to thank my trusted cartographer Vittorio Angius and Adventure Inside for having provided everyone with the superb little guidebook; the topo can be downloaded below are a great guide and you certainly won’t have any difficulties orienting yourself among the rocks of this Tre Cime park
