Brenta Dolomites: Frizzi & Lazzi rock climb on Torrione di Vallesinella
Establishing a new route is always the result of curiosity: it stems from the desire to explore something new and let yourself be surprised by the unknown. This holds true even for a small peak just a stone’s throw from a busy path, such as Torrione di Vallesinella.
After having back and forth from the Tuckett refuge so often, each time glancing at the wall, I convinced myself that those dark-grey rocks were worth a visit and that they might even host an easy, good quality line. Alberto Fedrizzi and Martina Paolazzi were keen to join me and we decided to have a look, armed with a drill and the desire to create a "plaisir" climb here in the Brenta Dolomites..
We had a fun day out and actually found a line up the wall that wasn’t too bad at all really! It turned out to be harder than we’d originally though, but nevertheless well protected and sweetened by belays equipped with threads and bolts.
We are sure that thanks to all of these characteristics - ease of access, excellent rock quality, difficulties by no means extreme - the Frizzi & Lazzi route will prove highly popular in the future.

FRIZZI & LAZZI by Martina Paolazzi
Acting on Alberto's suggestion, a year after our first ascent we returned to repeat Frizzi & Lazzi, the route on Torrione di Vallesinella that Alessandro had joking named using our surnames. I also had a plaque that I wanted to place at the base.
Most first ascensionists of mountain routes disdain adding makes to the base of their climbs but I, who find it very difficult to locate the starts, thought it wouldn’t be a bad idea to add a clearly visible plaque even if, admittedly, the enormous thread at the start of the first pitch is unmissable.
So on a 20 x 10 steel plates, armed with a grinder, I carved the names Frizzi & Lazzi... Well, you have to imagine the &, because the wheel slipped and I "E" must be very imaginary, the wheel slipped away and I made a square... Certainly no one will get lost now!
