Effimeri barbagli: the new ice climbing guidebook by Matteo Giglio

ffimeri barbagli: le cascate della Valle d'Aosta nella nuova guida di Matteo Giglio The title is related to the challenging route Effimeri barbagli that Giglio first climbed in January 2004 together with Arnaud Clavel and Maurizio Rossetto. Rossetto tells the ascent in the first pages of the book, in which you find also interesting articles about important ice falls as Repentance Super, Cohésion Zero, Rampilonga by Night, Il Tubo and Liaisons Dangereuses. Effimeri barbagli and its Facebook page are essential tools for everybody wants both to ascent the Aosta Valley ice falls and to know the history and development of ice climbing in this Alps area. This cultural approach is normal for Matteo Giglio, that in the last months climbed with Arnaud Clavel the very impressive Bonatti-Vaucher route on the north face of the Grandes Jorasses (Mont Blanc). The team managed to repeat the route 50 years after the epic first ascent and Matteo told the adventure with unknown historical details in the magazine of the Italian Alpine Club (the article is available also here: www.matteo-giglio.blogspot.it/2014/09/grandes-jorasses-parete-nord-bonatti.html). www.camp.it [gallery link="file" ids="7711"]
