Kalymnos a novembre

This year again, November was a perfect period for climbing in Kalymnos: perfect temperature, climbing in the sun and the shade, the crags for ourselves, good company and still time for a swim in the sea before an amazing sunset.

Here are some pictures of our November climbing camp – Performance coaching. During 5 days, the group learned, climbed and enjoy as much as possible! They climbed all styles of rock, on tufas in Grande Grotta, slabs in Poets, big pockets in Ghost Kitchen, visited more than 8 sectors and sometimes did 9 routes a day! It was good challenges and improvement for everybody, reaching 6c+ to 7b, and some 7a+ onsight!

It was also good conditions for Learning Multipitch, on School sector in Kalymnos. The sun arrives in the morning from the first pitch, the view on Telendos is amazing and it was a great first experience for these 2 beginner climbers. Probably the first of many multi-pitch for them! Then, it was time to explore some new routes, up to 8a, that have been equipped this fall in the sectors Zeus, Gerakios, Arginonta and Summertime. It was great to discover again Zeus. It has a little something different with the fig trees all around and the small lambs playing nearby. Gerakios is another sector to discover, above Masouri, very quiet, with nice lines and an amazing view on Myrties and the islands of Patmos and Astypaleia by clear weather. Summertime is already very popular and now has more routes for beginners (4-5b) and some harder routes (7b to 7c+?). Thanks to all the equipers! Time also for drilling! The sector Saint Fotis is under construction… that’ll be one of the major sector! More info coming soon.

We are now getting ready for the Christmas Climbing Camp from December 26th to January 2nd. It’s always a nice climbing period, often climbing in T-shirt on the sunny crags and then, having a nice hot meal at the local taverna.
