Route

Nice and difficult route first ascended, then freed, by the South Tyroleans Martin and Florian Riegler from the ground up in summer 2007 without bolts. Vertical and overhanging crack climbing up good quality rock, with a boulder crux at 20m height. Although the physical difficulties ease off after this first pitch, the route up the northern tower becomes psychologically more demanding.

Getting there
Exit the motorway after Bolzano at Chiusa and continue for Val di Funes. Turn off left at S. Pietro towards Passo delle Erbe. Access
Park the car at Passo delle Erbe and take path No. 8a towards Pra de Pütia. Reach the hut Munt de Fornela and then continue left along path No. 8b to reach the obvious boulders. leave the path at this point and cross alpine meadows and scree slopes to reach the base of the route in circa 1 hour. The route starts on the right beneath an overhanging yellow crack. Descent
Abseil down the line of ascent. Gear
Full alpine rack. Two 60m ropes! The route is equipped with 20 in-situ pegs. P1: 7 pegs. P2: 3 pegs. P3: 1 peg. P4 & P5: no pegs. All remaining pegs on the belays.
