Route

Via Mirko, a fantastic 19-pitch climb that leads to the summit of Monte Steviola.

The route is well-equipped, but since all pitches are sustained, the outing is an interesting, not-to-be-underestimated free climbing challenge.
Getting there
Reach Selva di Val Gardena and follow signs for Vallunga. Park at the car park (payment in summer and winter). The rock face is clearly visibile from here. Access
Walk along path “via crucis- Kreuzweg”, at the fork follow signs for “Castel Wolkenstein”. The route starts 20 meters to the right of the castle ruins (first bolt clearly visible). Descent
From the last belay traverse across meadows NW, follow the path that leads to a short downclimbing section (III) and then join the Palota path that in circa 45 minutes leads easily back down to the Vallunga car park. Gear
1 x 50m rope, 14 quickdraws, helmet Notes

Via Mirko is dedicated to a close friend who died prematurely, who loved to fly above these mountains.

Via Mirko crosses Via Vinatzer at 3/4 height.
