Vallon du Lou is certainly one of the most beautiful and easiest off-piste descents in the Trois Vallees. Located far away from the lifts, this offers a solitary decent down moderately angled slopes to reach the enchanting Lac de Lou before returning to Val Thorens

Getting there
From Italy drive through the Freyus tunnel, reach Modane, exit the motorway and take the RD1006 highway to reach Orelle (10 km). Park at the cable car. Access
From Val Thorens take the Cime Caron cable car to 3195m. Itinerary
From the top of the Caron cable car ski down the piste towards "Combe de Caron". Immediately after Cime de Caron leave the piste and descend the short slopes to reach the obvious entrance into the valley by crossing the piste once again.
Follow the splendid valley by skiing down the valley bottom of the steeper slopes on its sides to reach Lac de Lou 2035m.
Ski past the lake and make some more turns by the side of the piste to easily reach the Val Thorens ski lifts (chairlift Plan de l’Eau 1800m). Gear
