New route on the Lastoni di Formin (Dolomites) at the hands of Mario Dibona and Gretchen Alexander. The duo created a new bolt 300m route up the center of Spiz de Mondeval, calling it "Love my dogs" and grading it 7a, 6b+ oblig.
Getting there
From Cortina drive up towards Passo Giau. Access
Park the car in the obvious lay-by on the left, circa 200m beneath Passo Giau Follow the path to Forcella Giau (30 min)and continue to the middle of the face (leftwards) to a large cairn with the route name marked on it (10 min from the col). Itinerary
P1: 5b, 32m, slab
P2: 6c+, 30m, tecnhnical and beautiful slightly overhanging grey slab
P3: 6c, 30m, grey slab with overhang
P4: 6a, 33m, nice grey slab
P5: 6b, 32m, great vertical pitch
P6: 6a+, 48m, great corner with steep finishing slab
P7: 6c+/7a, 35m, slab with roof and finishing crack
P8: 5b, 22m, slab with finishing overhang
P9: 5b, 20m, vertical corner-crack to top Descent
Descend north for 5 minutes along the path that leads to the obvious cleft on the right. This marks the start of a steep and friable gully. The first abseil is obvious (belay on the right away from stonefall). Three 30m abseils lead to the base of the wall. Gear

Bella via in ambiente isolato e silenzioso. Chiodatura supersicura.
Leggermente sovragradata in alcuni punti, secondo tiro e terzo tiro. I tiri di 6a hanno solo dei passaggi di tale difficoltà, per il resto sono discontinui.
Tiro chiave settimo, bello tecnico. (darei 6c al tiro).

Bella via, roccia ottima.
Il tiro più duro per me è il 2°. Sul 6° tiro usato 2 cordini su sassi incastrati prima del chiodo poco visibile a 10m dalla sosta. Tiro non in linea con gli altri: perchè non sono stati messi 2 spit...??? Gli ultimi due tiri si possono unire.
2h per discesa a piedi.

Bellissima via su roccia generalmente solida, divertente e ben chiodata. Nel sesto tiro servono un paio di friend medio-grossi, per il resto bastano i rinvii. Il canale di discesa è comodo se non si hanno cordate che seguono, altrimenti è preferibile il rientro a piedi.

Bella via con arrampicata sempre divertente, con protezioini ottime per provare la salita in libera. Consiglio qualche friend medio per la fessura-diedro del 6° tiro, utili per i piscialetto come me. Il tiro più bello è il 2°, arrampicata molto divertente e continua. Il tiro di 6c+/7a in realtà è solo un passo (per andare a prendere l'ormai famoso buchetto di sx e poi alzarsi per rinviare), ma comunque divertente. Grazie e complimenti agli apritori.
