Route
This climbs the obvious two corners up the West Face of the Cima Cason di Formin. The first faces south and is 80 meters long, whilst the second, facing north and two thirds of the way up, can be done in one pitch. Exit from the ledge (shared with via Dallago) to the right, and climb up the final chimney past the wedged block.
Getting there
Passo Giau is reached easily either from Cortina via the SS48 and SS638, or from Caprile for those coming from the Agordino. Access
Cima Cason di Formin is reached by driving towards Passo Giau from Cortina and parking the car at Rucurto. Take the signposted path no. 437 to Rifugio Palmieri and turn off at the fork with the no. 435 for the Val Formin. Continue until this levels out beneath the wall, and then walk up the scree slope. Start on the wall to the right of Diedro Dallago. Descent
The belays and pitches have some in-situ gear, but the cracks and threads accept plenty of gear.

The final section of the route and the descent is the same as for Diedro Dallago. Exit from the corner and climb up, traversing right to a loose gully. Ascend this and reach a wedged block; climb past this (grade 5, pegs) and then walk down towards the lake and the slopes grassy below, before heading left to the saddle, which leads to another gully and then quickly down the side of the mountain to the base of the route. As an alternative to the loose gully, climb the wall to the left.

Valutazione alta per via dello spettacolare diedro iniziale. Mi ricordo anche qualche bel tratto di aperta parete. Chiodi q. b. ma qua e là entrano bene anche le protezioni veloci.Consigliabile. Il ritorno veloce è possibile ma consiglio sempre una sosta al Palmieri.

molto bella peccato sia breve (più di quello che sembra dalla relazione). Pochi chiodi ma molto proteggibile, le soste ci sono tutte roccia ottima. Io l'ho trovata logica e mai banale fino alla sesta sosta. ottima se si deve essere a casa presto o evitare i soliti temporali pomeridiani. Attacco 100 m a dx della Dalago, il diedro di attacco non si vede finchè non si aggira il suo spigolo in quanto rivvolto a w

MOLTO BELLI E COSTANTI I PRIMI DUE TIRI NEL DIEDRO E BEN PROTEGGIBILI INTEGRANDO GLI SCARSI CHIODI CON DADI E FRIENDS. IL RESTO DELLA VIA E' DISCONTINUA PERO' ,TRANNE GLI ULTIMI TIRI,SEMPRE SU ROCCIA BUONA. LUNGO LA VIA SI TROVANO POCHI CHIODI DI PASSAGGIO, MA NON CI SONO PROBLEMI NEL SEGUIRE L' ITINERARIO. CONSIGLIO DI PORTARSI DIETRO DADI E FRIENDS MEDIO-GRANDI PER LE NUMEROSE FESSURE CHE NON SI PRESTANO MOLTO AI CHIODI.

una bella via,sopratutto nella prima parte.I due tiri in diedro ci hanno entusiasmato non poco,sopratutto per l'esposizione.A mio avviso ,nel complesso,la valutazione dei gradi è onesta anche se darei qualcosina in più al primo tiro.Attenzione ai sassi in uscita!
