On 24 April 2024 the Austrian and Swiss ski mountaineers Andri Bieger, Martin Kogler and Valentin Werner-Tutschku skied three impressive lines down the south face of Nevado Chachacomani (6074m) in the Cordillera Real of the Bolivian Andes. Based on preliminary research and information from the local guides, it is highly likely that these extremely steep lines can be considered as new ski descents.

Commenting after the descent, Werner-Tutschku explained "The effort to ski some 1000vm on skis is immense here. 4 days of hiking, 2 different camps just for some turns above 6000m with the Amazon rainforest to your left, the Altiplano to your right and below your skis, snow that has possibly never been skied before, is truly magical and so worth all the effort."

The South America expedition included skiing in Peru and their efforts are documented in the award-winning film Sariri which is currently doing the international film circuit.
