This is a rare single-day free ascent in winter of this classic, established in 1935 by Pierre Allain and Raymond Leininger.

From 9 - 14 December 2025 French alpinist Charles Dubouloz completed a rare solo ascent of Divine Providence on Grand Pilier d'Angle. First ascended by Patrick Gabarrou and François Marsigny in 1984, the route is one of the most legendary climbs in the entire Mont Blanc massif
