Watch Stefano Ghisolfi send L'Arenauta 9b at Sperlonga, Italy
At the start of February Stefano Ghisolfi freed a project that had been bolted over 20 years ago by Giuliano Tarquini in the huge Grotta dell'Arenauta cave at Sperlonga. Graded 9b, L'Arenauta is now the hardest sport climb in Central Italy. The first section is about 8b+ and leads to a tricky knee bar rest, before tackling the intense 10-move crux. Here's the video documenting the first ascent.
