Recently crowned European Lead Under 16 Champion Giorgio Bendazzoli has sent a trio of difficult climbs at his local crag Covolo: Tam tam 8a+, Balla coi lupi 8b and Tiscali 8b+. The cliff, hidden among the folds of the Vincenza foothills, has been the breeding ground of numerous superb climbers, first and foremost Dino Lagni, the 1999 Lead World Champion and Bendazzoli trainer, along with another historic Italian athlete, his wife Lisa Benetti.

After these recent successes Benetti and Lagni told Planetmountain "What can we say? Well, we really do have a great group of youngsters! Each with their own character and style of climbing! It's immensely satisfying when they manage to achieve good results and in the case of Giorgio Bendazzoli these couldn't have been any better, both in competitions and on sport climbs! As trainers we try to enhance the physical and mental differences of the individual climbers who are, fortunately, all different one from the other. We don't try to change their style, in anything, we attempt to enrich their climbing repertoire by working on their weaknesses... that's all. All credit goes to them... and the families that support them and accompany them all year round. And as we never get tired of saying, the most important thing of all though is to have fun!"
