| On 23 February the 28 year old Yuri Parimbelli repeated "C'era una volta in America" 8c. First climbed way back in 1993 by Beppe Dallona, this highly technical route (or rather, link of the two pitch Feedback 8b and 8a+) has seen only two other repeats in its ten year history, at the hands of Stefano Alippi in 1998 and Cristian Brenna in 2001. Yuri describes his ascent as follows: "The route is beautiful - and not only because it's my first 8c. The first section is a technical vertical slab that requires good finger strength. A balancy crux move leads to the bulgy second section with some good chipped pockets and small edges. The bulge soon becomes vertical and then finishes off as a delicate slab." Four ascents in ten years, the 35m slab is no walk in the park! ![]() |
