Christian Maurer & Peter von Känel: 30 4000ers in 10 days

Christian Maurer and Peter von Känel are setting breaking new ground in their bid to climb all 82 peaks over 4,000m in the Alps within 72 days. The pair, who set off on 10 June, are travelling from one mountain to the next on foot, skis or by paraglider and despite challenging conditions, during the first 10-day weather window they bagged a staggering 30 peaks across the Swiss Alps. On the 19th of June they decided to return home by bus and train in order to wait for better conditions, and yesterday they set off again, towards the Mont Blanc area and, conditions permitting, further down to Barre des Ecrins.
